Linux How To : Install Canon Pixma IP1880 on Mandriva 2009

The first step you can download official driver from here. There is a 2 rpm file must downloded. cnijfilter-ip1800series-2.70-1.i386.rpm and cnijfilter-common-2.70-1.i386.rpm. Open "konsole" run urpmi. Why we use urpmi, because this command can search dependency automaticaly. SO, u can using urpmi to install 2 pakage and download automaticaly dependency from repository.

9. (medium "Mandriva Linux - 2009.0 (Powerpack) - Installer (contrib)")
10. (medium "Main (Official2009.0-4)")
11. cnijfilter-common 2.70 1 i386
12. cnijfilter-ip1800series 2.70 1 i386
13. 10MB of additional disk space will be used.
14. 2.7MB of packages will be retrieved.
15. Proceed with the installation of the 8 packages? (Y/n) Y

Next go to the Configure your Computer > Hardware > Setup the Printers. If you first run this setup. You will see the dialog like this :

Program will find dependency automaticaly, just klik Ok.

If you finished install all package needed, Now u just connecting your IP1880 to computer, and than Mandriva will configured automatically..
